I’m Stephen Julian, founder and guide at Real Rotorua. I started this company because of the lack of down to-earth tour options in my hometown. I believe that this beautiful district is more than the sum of its paid attractions, and I wanted visitors to Rotorua to see the places that my mother used to take me as a child.

I have had a number of different jobs and businesses over the years. I have been a truck driver, owned a cleaning company and delivered tank water to rural properties. Nowadays I use a combination of all my learnt skills and experiences; driving tourist around, providing them with refreshments and cleaning up afterwards … and I have never been happier!
